River Plate and Colombian team Independiente Santa Fe faced each other in the Libertadores Cup group match organized by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL).
River Plate won 2-1 in the match played at the Antonio Vespucio Liberti Stadium, known as “El Monumental” of River Plate in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.
They could not make a substitution
River Plate, in which 20 players could not enter the squad due to the massive Covid-19 cases that broke out in the Argentine team, came out without his goalkeeper and substitutes.
While Enzo Perez, who was running the ball in the midfielder, passed to the goal, River Plate completed the historical match without any substitution since he was not a substitute.
In the first half of the match, Fabrizio Angiler and Julian Alvarez scored River Plate’s goals in the 3rd and 6th minutes, while Kelvin Osorio scored Santa Fe’s only goal in the 73rd minute.
The Argentine team, River Plate, requested CONMEBOL to include 2 goalkeepers in his squad to play in the Santa Fe match, but was not accepted.
